...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTH CENTRAL CARROLL AND
SOUTHWESTERN GRENADA COUNTIES THROUGH 600 PM CDT...

At 516 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Jefferson, or 8 miles north of Carrollton. This thunderstorm was
nearly stationary.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

* WHERE...Carroll and Grenada.

* WHEN...From 10 AM to 8 PM CDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
related illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
